Founded by Chris and Liz Pipes for the purposes of establishing a blog to report RV travel musings, interesting people, and the many treasured finds along the way. They will also be offering product reviews and reporting on campground/boon-docking venues with their personal insights from a consumer’s perspective with 40+ years of camping and travel experience.

Meet The Pipes

Chris and Liz are both 4th generation Floridians from the tiny town of Bartow. They attended and graduated the same kindergarten class at age 5, started “going together” in the 7th grade and were married after college. Following 42 years of marriage Chris refers to Liz as the “current” Mrs. Pipes as he’s convinced that one day she’ll wise up and find a better man.

Through The Years

Their careers have presented many wonderful opportunities to live in different cities and make lots of new friends. They’ve lived in Orlando, Amelia Island and Lake Placid, FL, Nashville, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Colorado Springs, Lewisburg, WV, and Williamsburg, VA. Chris has served as a sales/marketing executive for some of the finest resort hotels and high-end sporting lodges in the country. Liz with her Masters in Psychology has served as a therapist in a boys residential program and a psychiatric hospital.

Their Son

Chris and Liz have one son, Matthew. Lives in Colorado and is a Medical Assistant at a large VA Hospital, a volunteer fireman, and a combat medic in the Army National Guard. Matt has solo thru hiked the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail twice.

Passions

The Pipes share a passion for the outdoors and enjoy camping, hiking, fly fishing whenever and wherever the opportunities arise. They’ve hiked many sections of the Appalachian Trail and the Scenic Florida Trail and fishing throughout North America.

Camping experiences over the years have included sleeping under the stars on top of an International Harvester Travelall truck, and then tent camping for years followed by a Pop-up trailer, and a vintage 1959 shell camper. Currently they enjoy a 31’ Keystone Hideout travel trailer. The idea of pulling in, getting all set up then disengaging the tow vehicle and exploring the surrounding communities and landscapes is a plus.

Their Dog

Travel would be no fun for the Pipes without Dr. Pickle Pipes. Pickle is a “Fuzz”ician and celebrates his birthday on the Memorial Day weekend. He’s five years old and a mini schnauzer.
